Effigy head pots, crafted between 1200 and 1500 CE, represent some of the most sophisticated and culturally significant ceramic forms created by the Mississippian people. Beyond their exquisite craftsmanship, these vessels provide tangible connections to identity, spiritual beliefs, and cultural practices. Building upon these historical precedents, the sculptures reimagine these ancient vessels in metal and glass, highlighting their resilience, adaptability, and enduring presence in contemporary Native American art.
